research project

I'm beginning research on a project called Integration of Information/Library
Skills with Technology.  It just so happens though, the four K-5 libraries
that I supervise are not automated (the Middle and High schools are). I do
teach information/library skills half of the day and am hoping to be ready to
go full blast when the Powers That Be come up with the money for automation.
Has anyone done a project similiar to this or could give me some advice on
where to go to get more information for this elementary level?  Elizabeth
