I think that it's saying that students will read good books - fiction or nonfiction. The problem was, as I read it, that fiction books weren't being promoted but that when they were, students were happy to read them (and that this lack of promoting fiction led to students being uninterested in reading in high school). I saw it as encouraging promoting reading of ANY book - not just using the resources for research. Laura R.
