Yes, when television programs came up, they all seemed to know all of the shows that had been on the previous night. With some round-about questioning, I figured out that "homework time" was usually during the news. If they couldn't get homework done before prime time television, they "didn't have time" to finish! Of course, they also usually ate dinner during that time as well. That didn't leave a whole lot of time for doing homework -- much less reading without interruption.
