Since we are facing the possibility of a move into remodeled space, possibly a suite of classrooms in an unused wing of a school (from a better than OK space in teh central adminsitrative building), what I would like to hear is What are the pitfalls I should be looking for when talking to the district architects about the remodeling? work areas, sink (yes!), cabinet and file storage, checkout desk, unobstructed view through the entire room (I swear the architect thought he could put out 6,000+ square foot space into 6 separate classrooms WITHOUT tearing down any walls--just move with the patrons from room to room, locking and unlocking as you go--mind you, we've got 1 media specialist, .25 library assistant, and 1.0 FTE clerk in 2 people). What else? I do so want to be on top of the puzzle when he comes back, as I hope he will, to ask what our needs will be in the remodeled classrooms. Edith M.
