Recently -- well, this weekend was the first I noticed it -- at the bottom
of my screen as I am receiving e-mail, there's a little message on the
bottom left screen "applet started". What does that mean? Why is it there?
Was it always there and I was too busy/dazed to notice?
(I know what an applet is -- what applet)?
No, I didn't change my ISP or e-mail or update to another version recently.

TIA for any clarification.
