Original Question:

I am in the process of ordering supplies for a new library. I have=20
always either ordered laminated jackets on my Follett books or run=20
others through the laminating machine. I was wondering if you could=20
share your collective experience with me about the economy and=20
durability of buying the various size rolls of book jacket cover=20
material and which brands you have found to stand the test of many=20
circulations.

Thanks,

Please post a hit. I too laminate and have wondered about the other
jacket materials.
----------
Have you tried the Kapco Library Products?
1-800-791-8965- 930 Overholt Road, P O Box 626, Kent, Ohio 44240. =20
Longwood College brought a local librarian group together to see a =
demonstration. I
was so impressed, I ordered for the high school and we have been using =
it ever since (2 years). It is not cheap, but it is good.
----------
We have had success using Gaylord's book jackets on rolls...they come in
various weights and also non-glare...I like the rolls better because =
they
can be fit to any length book jacket and are easy to store. The flat,
pre-cut are not easy to store and often do not fit the length of the
jacket. I would imagine that Highsmith or Demco have similar =
products...am
not sure how the prices compare.

I am a primary school (K-3) so I have lots of icture books. I find =
Highsmith E-Z rolls that you cut to length and fold he top down to fit =
do me just fine in two sizes 10 and 14. I buy 1 1/2 mil strength. =
Cover the paper dust covers and wash as necessary. A soiled or torn =
cover when replaced makes the book look new.
