I'd like the benefit of others' experience with offering extended (evening) hours at a high school library. Was/is it constructively used by enough students to warrant the hassles of administrative timing and such? Are there personal safety issues or problems for students coming/going in the evening hours? Are special programs offered (like subject tutoring); if so, who does these programs? What kind of staffing is needed? I know many of you are on vacation, but since this is a tentative idea we're exploring for next year I'd appreciate even a few answers. -- LaVerne Ireland, Librarian Live Oak High School 1505 E.
