Elem Author Visits IL, WI, IA

I am on a committee to locate an author to visit our school the next
school year. We have never had an author visit our school.  I have
searched the archives and found many authors who do school visits but they
seem to be located in regions far away from Illinois.  Our budget is not
unlimited. I do not think that we would be able to spend $2,000.  Our
school is K-5 about 350 students.  If the author chosen would be a major
one we possibly could combine our school with another school down the
street to share the expense. Does anyone have the names of authors who
have visited their elementary school  in the midwest? We are  located
about 40 miles from the Mississippi River and the Iowa border.  I would
appreciate any author names or clues on who would visit our area and their
addresses.
