"From Debra Kilcup: I am interested in learning of any picture books which you feel are great for introducing, demonstrating, etc. the qualities of 6 trait writing." An *extremely* useful book on using picture books to teach the six trait writing model is available from Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory (NWREL) titled _Picture Books: An Annotated Bibliography for Teaching Writing_ (Fourth Edition, 1996) by Ruth Culham and Vicki Spandel. I haved used it so often, I finally bought my own copy. If you don't have a library copy and your district is involved with writing, especially the six traits, by all means, purchase this book at your first opportunity. The Northwest lab website is http://www.nwrel.org/. Search in the products database.
