TECH: Alliance cataloging

I have Follett Unison and did my retro using Alliance Plus. I try to order
everything with the barcodes and Marc records, but I just got a box of
brand new Scholastic paperbacks donated. My question is this: if the ISBN
number cannot be found in Alliance, but the title can, what do you do? Do
you change the information in the record to match the book in hand, or
just do a brief record without all the tracings. Because they are
paperbacks, sometimes I can find the title but it's from the hardcover by
a different publisher. TIA for any help you can give.
