We have a new Mathematics teacher on the staff who is very keen to use the library. We are now having three low-ability classes of 13 year olds in the library each week. So far we have done decimal activities using the Dewey system, some basic Escher designs and work using books of statistics. Once the students got over the shock of coming to the library for Maths they became quite keen and have worked really well. However we are running out of ideas and we don't want to lose such a motivated teacher. I would love to hear from anyone who has ideas for the Maths lessons using library resources, the teacher wants her students to realise that Maths is everywhere and used by them everyday, not just in the classroom. Thanking you in anticipation.
