Ok Karen,

Let's keep it real.  What ethnic group does the NAACP represent?  Black
folks, right.  This organization is historically the voice of blacks,
therefore it is the Negro (Black) National Anthem.  This song depicts the
struggle of blacks wanting freedom from slavery.

Now, as for white folks, consider "The Star Spangled Banner".  It depicts
the struggle of America's freedom from the British.  During this time,
blacks were not considered Americans.

For many, blacks are not considered equal to whites.  To many, the U.S.
Constitution was not written for blacks.  Blacks had to make their own
statement about who they are and what they stand for.

Try to be a little tolerant of the multicultural aspects of America.
