Poem Source

A teacher has asked me to find the real author of this poem.  Does
anyone know the poem?
Title:  The Battle
   " The sky was clear
    The time was right
    I hoped like heck
    The fish would bite"
        and so forth discribing the fight for the fish, and then how the
fish got away
    "As looked back
    I could see the wake
    That champion fish
    Would be there again
    Maybe next time
    I would win."
