Thanks to all of you who responded to this.  I have to agree with some of you
who said there should be a certified person there, but in this area, the small
districts usually just have one certified person per district, and the rest
are aides.  I'm not saying I approve, I'm saying that's how it is.  I will be
job-hunting myself in the fall.  As one of my library science professors often
says, we have to educate our administrators because they don't know!

There were an enormous number of responses--too many to post, but if you're
interested, I'll e-mail to anyone directly.  It's six or seven pages.
