GEN: Accerated Reader

Greetings everyone,

I was considering purchasing Accelerated Reader.  I made a presentation to
the PAC.  They thought it looked good, but decided to fund a new computer
for the lab instead.  Since then, after reading much of the discussion on
LM_NET, I've decided that I don't want the program.  I work 70% in a school
of 190 students and the students sign out lots of books.  We never have
enough money and I'm sure $1,000 Canadian wouldn't go for with AR or
Electronic Bookshelf.

Now, however the district Learning Assistance teachers are pushing for the
program.  I would appreciate and thought and advice.
