Hello everyone ... In preparation for a general introduction to librarianship course beginning on 3 Jun for the local community college, I would like your recommendations for articles which you believe are a "must read" for individuals who may or may not know anything about the field. Nothing too serious in nature, but everything you might include if you wanted your students to get a form grasp of all the facets librarians develop serving their patrons ... If any of you have any suggestions for a reliable, complete, and recent textbook, send that recommendation along as well. Thank you for taking the time ... rest assured that FLIP IT!, the BIG6, and both Dewey and LC cataloging will be discussed ... I am not sure whether we will have enough time to do any Internet research or instruction just yet, although I cannot possibly imagine going two months without a mention or simple exercise involving computers or the Internet. Any overall suggestions, recommendations, and topics for discussion are also welcome. Thanks again... Earl J. Aloha y'all. . . Earl J.
