Hi ... today's (May 31) online NY Times has an article by Rebecca Fairley
Raney, titled "Los Angeles Libraries Experience Renaissance With Computer
Use." One notable pair of sentences reads: "The doomsayers were wrong.
The crush of information has made librarians more important than ever."
There may be much here of interest to LM_Net folks, even though the focus
is on public libraries.

The article is at
http://www.nytimes.com/library/tech/yr/mo/cyber/articles/31library-la.html

Access is free in the U.S., with registration. Sorry, I cannot forward
copies of the article to those without access.

Regards,

Ken Umbach
