GEN: Sites for US History Symbols

As part of a sixth grade poster project students are to try to locate symbols
that they can use to create their own posters/cards as gifts to veterans.

It's amazing how little I have found to support this project in our print
collection.  I've been surfing this morning ... have found a few sites  (the
Air Force has a neat '98 Veteran's Day poster, a good Uncle Sam site) but I
need a few more.  If anyone has any suggestions, I'd sure appreciate it.

I want to give them a list of sites to visit because during my "surfing" I
found some inappropriate sites among the legitimate ones!!!

P.S. I'll post a mouse ball hit soon.  Have some good tips and ideas I'm going
to try and then report on!
