GEN: job philosophy for Director of Maintenance

This is an off-the-wall question, but our Director of
Maintenance/Transportation/Physical Plant, etc. needs a job
philosophy for his position.  I didn't ask why, but I am at a dead
end.  Does anyone have a suggestion OR  a philosophy for him??
