TARGET: MID: Persuasive essay resources

Our 8th graders research current issues for their persuasive essay
assignments. While the Internet and SuperTom Junior are useful for this, I
would like to find some age-appropriate paper reference material as well.
The students need assistance in their selection of topics as well as the
easy access that our reference collection provides.
I have looked at the Facts on File Issues and Controversies, which is close
to what we need. However, this serial seems more suited for high school
with its long articles and high price. Has anyone used it for Middle
School?
Can anyone help me with some good current issue resources (in book form)
for 8th graders?
