ELEM: looping classes- yes or no????

My daughter's school is considering looping (same teacher stays with the
class for 2 years).  Do you have any opinions -success stories or
failures? Do your teachers like or hate it? How do parents feel about
it? ETc.... Thanks for your valued opinions...
