Dear group,
I am running the latest Unison DOS version on a Novell 4.1
network using an IBM server. I have 12 workstations. I used to have
a strictly DOS network (and everything always worked fine!), but got
new computers 1 and half years ago and was forced to move to WIN95.
Ever since then, I have been experiencing more and more frequent
corruptions of my database which necessitates at least 1 day of "down"
time while I reindex and rebuild my database. Now, every time I work
with my MARC records or catalog, the database becomes corrupt. (I get
big red boxes which say "MARC record failed to save"--that's the first
sign). I have call Tech support severall times. Now I am ready to
have a network specialist come in and do a complete diagnostics on my
hardware and network cabling and software. Have any of you had
similar problems? Was it hardware, network software, or DOS Unison on
a WIN95 machine that was the problem? How did you correct it?
