GEN: who can use old books?

About a year ago someone asked if there was something we could do with
books we were discarding, if there was any school that could use older
books.  Someone responded with an address of a school in Tanzania.  I
started the project but stopped it when I learned that it would cost about
$1 per pound to ship books there.  So I discarded the information.  Now a
staff person at my school has said she will do the fundraising for postage.
So does anyone know of a place we can send these books?  They are in good
shape, some are basal readers and literature anthologies that we aren't
using and that can't be sold.  Also some math texts and work books.  If
anyone has a reliable contact (or *is* a reliable contact), could you write
to me?
