GEN: Do You Catalog Equipment?

Dear Netters,

We are soon to switch to Follett's Circ Plus/Catalog Plus and I am
wondering if now is the time to put my A-V equipment inventory into the
system. I understand that a number of people have done this, but I'm not
clear on the advantages. It seems like it would be a good way to print a
list at the end of the year for inventory, but I think I see problems with
using the computer for class period to class period or day to day checkout
of equipment.

If you use a computerized system for equipment, would you please tell me
about the advantages/disadvantages you have found? I will gladly post a hit
if anyone would like one.
