Favorite books YOU like to read

As a child, my very favorite book was KING OF THE WIND by
Marguerite Henry.  I did have a horse as a child, but that book
made me dream of someday owning an Arabian.

From 20 to 40 years old, I was without a horse.  Then my
husband and I attended an event wehre there were many Arabian
horses and the dream was born again.  Within a month I had
purchased a beautiful Arabian mare, Guenevere.  I then wrote to
Marguerite Henry to tell her of the wonderful influence she had
been in my life with all of her stories, and I even sent her
a picture of Guenevere and me.  Imagine my joy when I recieved
a long, lovely letter from her on her own personal stationery
that had drawings across the top of Misty and Brighty and
Stormy and her other famous characters.

That letter is now pressed between the pages of a classic copy
of KING OF THE WIND that has the color pages of Wesley Dennis'
fine drawings and I cherish them both.

You were wonderful, Marguerite Henry!  You brought joy and
wonderment to many, many children and adults.
