Actually you can order Thornton Burgess books from Amazon. I checked. Also, this afternoon out of nowhere the name Bobbs-Merrill came to me and then I checked my e-mail and saw others suggesting that was the series of little orange books I loved. Yes, the series was called Childhood of Famous Americans and now has been updated. I have some in my library (slipped my mind). Somehow they are not the same without those wonderful orange covers.
