How can I not get involved in this discussion?!

Ahhh yes, the Beany Malone books...I, too, read them all. And Janet
Lambert...I was at a tag sale a couple years ago and spotted a copy of
INTRODUCING PARRISH that I snapped up immediately (Parrish is of course the
daughter of Penny Parrish!!!) I used to read Betsy-Tacy, Carolyn Haywood
and Beverly Cleary (I remember wondering if life would really be like that
when I turned FIFTEEN, and also counting 100 red convertibles to find my own
true love after reading JEAN AND JOHNNY!) I used to enjoy books by Amelia
Walden also; does that name ring a bell for anyone?

The Children's Room librarian used to save the new Nancy Drew books for
me, and my cousin would make sure she was with me when I returned it so she
could take it out. The Dana Girls, the Hardy Boys, Cherry Ames, Sue Barton
and Vicki Barr (the stewardess!!!)---I reread them constantly. I copied a
list of all the Childhood of Famous Americans from the inside cover so I
could make sure I didn't miss any. (My favorites included Lottie Crabtree
and Molly Pitcher.) I remember rereading a "bio" on Francis Marion several
times(either a Landmark or Childhood...) because Walt Disney did a series of
shows on the Swamp Fox, starring Leslie Nielson and Tim Considine (remember
him?!) I also read the series of books about Annette. I also read whatever
books I could find that had been made into a movie starring Shirley
Temple...Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, Sarah Crewe, etc.

I loved Witch of Blackbird Pond and Island of the Blue Dolphin, but my
all-time favorite was "GOODNESS AND MERCY JENKINS"; I would borrow that book
every 3-4 months; something about it just caught my fancy.
.
Should I mention that I used to read all the Archie comics, as well as
some about Millie (that's all I remember about that series)?

Anyways...thanks...for the memories....!!!
