I just got back from Spring Break and saw this thread...

Someone mentioned "Five on a Treasure Island" -- the author was Enid
Blyton, author of the "Five Find-Outers", "Fabulous Five", "Mallory Towers"
and many other series.  My fave school series was (and still is) Elinor M.
Brent-Dyers "Chalet School."

Other beloved books that no one has mentioned... "What Katy Did" (and
sequals), the Pollyanna series (surprise!  she doesn't get gloomier as she
gets older), "All-of-a-Kind-Family" and a mystery series by an author with
three names (the only title I remember is "The Blue Tower" or something
like that).

What a wonderful trip down memory lane (and through my bookshelves at home)!
