Vicki Asper wrote: <I have wanted to try a system to award a class when either a certain percentage or all of the students return their books but I have a few questions.> I would love to see some on-line discussion about this. I have tried rewards before. (I offered popsicles for any class who gets 100% returned. My local grocery store had 24 store brand popsicles for $2 so this is no big set back.(and it hardly ever happens!) But I got frustrated when some teachers, in order to win, made the students keep the library books in their desks!!! Open circulation messes this up, too. I have given stickers to each individual in a class who is not on my overdue list, but doing this every week gets tedious. Plus I feel bad for the kid who has an irresponsible parent who never gets around to helping find a lost book. Seems like my chronic book losers have messy homes! Any one have a solution to this?
