I have come to you again for help. We were given thirty 486 pcs this
summer, but they were wiped toatlly clean before we were given them. So,
we want to have a word processor, data base and spread sheet for them.
Now for my question. Don't we also have to have Dos and where is the best
place to get a site license for that? I don't remember seeing them in a
catalog, but that might be because I never needed one so didn't pay
attention. Also, is there another word processor, etc. product out there
other than MS Works? Is there a better one, or should we stick to that?
We need a site license for that, too, but I do know where to call for
that. Who makes DOS and do we have to have it to make windows work? I am
sure this question is revealing how little I know about computers in spite
of having had several for years. The secretary said she tried to set up
one computer and got a c prompt, but here husband could never get in to
it. Could there be a c prompt without Dos?

I hope someone can help as I don't want to look totally ignorant in
front of the people who think I know something about computers. :)

TIA

Jan
