My favorite fantasy authors havve to be( not in order) Marion Zimmer
Bradley, Mercedes Lackey, Anne McCaffrey and Tolkien. I also have to add
Petricia Wrede.  Her "Sorcery and Cecelia" was my daughter's favorite and
my son loved the Talking to Dragon series.  His other favorites were the
Xanth series by Piers Anthony and the series by Robert Asprin starting
with "Another Fine Myth". My son(now 14) laughed his way through both of
these series.
