Hello fellow LM_NETers.
My name is Beth Pounds, I am beginning my 19th year as the librarian at
Beasley Middle School in Palatka, FL.-a small town 2 hours north of Orlando,
1 1/2 hours southwest of Jacksonville, 1/2 hour west of St. Augustine, and 1
hour east of Gainesville.

I service 700+ students and a faculty of approx. 45.  Teachers are already
back-student come back Wednesday.

My library building is 3 years old and while quite attractive, is not very
functional.  That will be compounded this year since I will be working
without an aide for the first time in about 10 years.  Because of this, I
have given the position of Tech Specialist to another teacher, but I expect
many teachers to still contact me from habit.

We are automated using Follett/Unison and I love it.

In my "spare" time, I work part-time at the local Wal*Mart in the shoe
department, and have found many similarities in the two positions.

I love LM_NET and read messages all year.  I often send messages to
individual posters, and have had occasion to post questions from
time-to-time, but still consider myself primarily a lurker.  I feel like I
benefit greatly from all the information I gather from this list.  I am
looking forward to seeing all the messages today!! I think unlurking sounds
great.
