Sigh. I was going to keep quiet on this... and while I still am sitting on my hands... I thought there was one other tid bit to this I'd add... To preface - I came to librarianship (entered school for my MLS) AFTER having a Ph.D. and other degrees in another disciplines and teaching college for 10 years. You might find it interesting to know that as long as you have an MA in something you can teach college. Your MA doesn't have to be in the subject you teach. Most college professors have NO training in teaching, education, how to manage or organize a class - and often the subject you are assigned to teach you might not have even ever had a course in! I just thought in light of this discussion - some of you might find that interesting...
