IN the strand of education in colleges and universities. Like many people I struggled through academic classes that bored me to sleep and tested my non-ability to memorize anything that did not have a musical note to it. I ended up in the industrial arts department in college. I found that memorizing the melting point of bronze, copper and aluminum just wasn't there but pouring a snail out of bronze was fantastic. As I continued my education later in life I worked on a LMT credential. What a different experience. I was able to succeed without testing, memorizing and it was fun. I am a constant advocate of adding library classes (taught by library media professors) to college requirements and traing college professors alternate teaching methods. I would have done much better in college using diverse learning methods than memorize, memorize, and cram. ===== Take Care, Brenda Toschi Library Media Teacher Supporting Strong School Libraries in California __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
