Hello, Just a reminder that not every state requires an MLS for school librarians. Kansas, for instance does not, although I do have the MLS. Several years ago in attempting to influence our state board of education I did a "down and dirty" survey from this group to see what was required in various states. It seemed there were almost as many variations of requirements as there are states!! Don't ask me what I did with the results! I got a new computer and may or may not have the data stored on a disk somewhere. My personal opinion is that my School Library Media course, which was not required for the MLS, was more useful than many of my LMS classes, and quite frankly, I learned most of the "nuts and bolts" from years of volunteering in my kids' school library and observing that librarian.
