"Read Across America"

Hell-o,

    I am a middle school teacher presently completing the college course

work for my library media certification at Georgia State University.  I
joined the listserv at the
beginning of this year.  I have not ever asked a question, but I have
learned so much about the media center by reading messages and questions

from all of you.

    I have volunteered to spearhead "Read Across America" in March, 2000

at my school.  Because I am going to school and teaching, my time is
limited.   I don't want to wait until the last minute to start planning
activities for this important event.  I have collected some activities,
but would appreciate any ideas from you appropriate for the middle
grades child.

    All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
