I have also had this problem with my first and second grade teachers. I = finally came up with this solution and the teachers seem to be able to = work with it. I keep all books in their proper section. I use red cloth tape cut into = =BD inch by 1 inch pieces. These are placed on the spines of the easy = readers, primers, etc in the EASY FICTION section. I also used the red = tape for the easy non-fiction books shelved by the DEWEY system. The = students can find the books themselves or sometimes I or my assistant will = pull a few to put on a cart. The students must chose one red tape book = and the other book(s) are free choice.
