Great Excitement Today!

This ought to make your day -

This morning, at 8:15, I made a quick announcement.  "I have just received 4
more copies of the 2nd and 3rd installments of Harry Potter.  The first 8
people who come to the library with a book to return can have them for the
holidays."  I flipped off the intercom, walked out of the office, and heard
a stampede coming down the hall.

Here came about 15 kids, all running as fast as they could, with smiles on
their faces and books in their hands!

Fortunately, those who didn't get one were good natured about it - after
all, aren't all Harry Potter readers good natured?  I thought it was
wonderful.  I now have 4 hb and 10 pap. of the first one, and 6 hardbacks of
the second and third, with waiting lists for all 3!

Just had to share the visual image with you of 5th and 6th graders (almost
all boys, too!) stampeding to the library to get their new books!
