Hello: I am a library assistant in an elementary school in rural Vermont where opportunities for continuing education are sparse. I would like to get certified in library media perhaps and wonder what long distance and alternative options are available and bona fide. This is not my preferred route since I benefit from networking with peers. I have a bachelor's degree in human development/education (1974 vintage) and nearly 20 years of experience in public, school and a medical library. There is one program offered in the state of Vermont but it involves much commuting a good distance and is spread out over 6 semesters, I believe. I thought that the University of Utah had some kind of program but a web search turned up nothing. TIA for your leads. Berta Barnard Library Assistant Cambridge Elem. School P.O.
