Gen: birthday greeting idea

Dear LM_Netters,

Sunday is my birthday.  Today I received a unique birthday card from the
faculty.  I thought maybe some of you would like to use this idea for a
librarian or other book lover.  A group card was bought and all the
staff signed it randomly but they were also asked to sign the name of
their favorite author.  I received greetings from Jack Prelutsky,
Stephen King and many other old favorites as well as from friends.  I
was very surprised and it was a topic of conversation all day. Hope some
of you can use this idea to surprise a friend.
