SEC: Reading programs

Hi,
The principal at our school is interested in investigating a
computerized reading program such as Accelerated Reader.   Someone
recommended that we look at Reading Recovery, but we cannot find any
information on the program.  Could anyone give me information to pass on
to the English department? For those of you using such a program as AR
or RR at the secondary level, what is your opinion of its success at the
high school level?  I have looked in the archives and have printed the
information there, but I would be interested in your thoughts.  TIA
