Thanks to all who responded concerning the mysterious message "Welcome
to Datacomp" appearing on a teacher's computer.  A special thanks to Ed
-- it worked!  We sent the suspicious keyboard to the district tech
services people.  They were as stumped as we were.  Thanks again.

It's not a virus. It's a undocumented feature of her third-party
keyboard. See <http://www.macvirus.com/help/notavirus.html l>, at the
bottom of the page, under 'Welcome Datacomp'.
