When Helen Oxenbury illustrated Eugene Trivas's "The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig," the third method that the Big Bad Pig used to destroy the wolves' house was by using explosives to blow the house up. I am told that when this story was included in a reading series (I think Harcourt; but it might be Houghton) the third method was changed to have the house destroyed with a wrecking ball, I believe. In-between the trade book edition and the basal series inclusion, the Oklahoma bombing took place. Oxenbury is English. My question is this. Can anyone confirm the series this story is included in; and can anyone tell me if there has been a similar revision in subsequent trade/paperback editions of this story? AND did Oxenbury create the changed illustration for the basal series version? TIA. Sharron ******************************************************************** Sharron L.
