I would like to add the following caveat...if you are not the sole user of your computer, you are particularly vulnerable. I have two teenage boys (one an international exchange student) who e-mail to friends all over the world. After Happy99 was discovered on my computer, unbeknownst to me BTW, I asked around to my teenagers. "Oh, yeah", said one of them, "I received a really pretty fireworks program from a friend of mine in Germany." End of story.... Moral? Keep your virus definitions updated at least weekly (I now do mine every night)...but, alas, the Happy99 virus was spreading for about two weeks before there was a fix for it. 2nd moral? Never, ever open an executable file sent as an attachment to an e-mail. 3rd moral? Send the teenagers off to live with the wild things without eating their supper! <g> Meg Schimmels, LMS Funston Elementary Wichita (KS) Public Schools http://www.mybookmarks.com/public/ksmom49/#current (w) funston@feist.com (h) megschimme@fn.net =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
