Friends, A 2nd and 3rd grade teacher at school has requested helping locating books that are set around the turn of the century (or that give a good idea about how people lived during that particular century). Students in her class will be creating a book that describes how their life is in 1999 and she wants them to be able to compare this with previous centuries (17th, 18th, 19th centuries). When I checked my OPAC at school I got hits on "What Zeesie Saw on Delancy Street" by Rael, "Train to Somewhere" by Bunting, "Now Let My Fly" by Johnson, and "Immigrant Kids" by Freeman. I have also checked Dale Copp's All Together Now Site and found some possibilities for some frontier/pioneer books, but am wondering if anyone has anymore suggestions. Any help you could give would be appreciated. Thanks!
