Target: Sec - Post WW II books

One of our history teachers assigns book reports each year.  The
students must pick a book dealing with something significant in history
in the time period of post World War II until the present.  I have
several titles that I recommend to the students, but I am in need of
more.  If anyone can suggest some good selections, I would appreciate
it.  In his government class they are required to read a book on any
contemporary issue.  Any suggestions that come to mind will be
appreciated also.  TIA
