ELEM: Battle of the Books suggestions?

I'm trying to decide what books to use this year with my 4th & 5th graders
for Battle of the Books and thought I'd ask for suggestions in case I've
missed anything good.  I'm looking for fairly recent books that are
available in paperback.  A science fiction or fantasy suggestion would
especially be nice.  Here are a few that I have in mind:

Crash-Spinelli
Frindle-Clements
Music of Dolphins-Hesse
Honus and Me-Gutman
Running out of Time-Haddix
Jaguar-Smith
a Herculeah Jones mystery (Dead Letter maybe)-Byars
Apprenticeship of Lucas Whitaker-DeFelice
Harry the Poisonous Spider-Banks
