LMC Facility Planning

I'm currently taking one of my first LIB classes toward my master's degree.
I've been assigned to discuss facilities with the rest of the class.  I would
like input into what you would consider essential in developing or renovating
an LMC.  If you've been through this process, I'd like to know what steps you
took.  Also, if you have a "wish list" for a "Perfect LMC", what would you
include in this list.
