Dear Group,

Since this is summer, and the mail is quite a bit lighter, I hope you will
not mind a vacation based question.

We will be taking our first trip to San Francisco in mid-August.
My question:  How do you pick among the thousands of wonderful sounding
restaurants (any personal favorites?) and what are two or three
must sees in the city.  We have been perusing guides both book and
internet, and are really quite overwhelmed.
