This is a rather delayed response but I hope it's helpful for that situation where Web pages give false paragraphs and spaces. The best answer is not to use Word (although search and replace in any word processor will do it) but to use the shareware ($15) program TextSOAP. I have no connection with the company but I am really delighted with it because it will "scrub" generally or selectively any unwanted or duplicated characters and other features. If you're an LM_NET member who gets annoyed by all those MIME characters like %20 or =20 it bins those too! The earlier version 1.3 works on Macs running system 7 but the newer version (v2?) needs system 8. Go to http://www.mindvision.com and try it yourself. Or write to textsoap@unmarked.com And no, I don't know if there's a PC version. Maybe Macs just surged ahead - again!
